Vacaria Vacaria is located in the Northeast Region of Rio Grande do Sul, near the border with Santa Catarina, between the rivers Pelotas and Antas, in a region called Superb high fields, covered with pine trees.

It was initially inhabited by indians, Crowned and Botocudos. Later, around 1740, there was the colonization of the white man. Earlier, in 1619, the missionary priest Roque Gonzales began the catechesis of the Indians in Rio Grande do Sul that community that was called "The Herding. In 1850, when it was emancipated, it was name of Vacaria. It is characterized by a subtropical climate with an average annual temperature of 16 º C.

With about 60 thousand inhabitants, the city's economy is based mainly on the production of grains and fruits.
